What if my mom doesn't want anyone but me to come and help her?

This is very common, because most people have a comfort zone that they don't want to move beyond.... this becomes more of an issue with the elderly.  They have fears about change and about losing control over their lives.  It is healthy for both of you to set loving boundaries for your self and your own time.  And when you invite Angel Advocates to help, it doesn't take long for mom to look forward to our visits and bond with our Caring Companions.

Are you an advocate for senior citizens?

We are passionate advocates for senior citizens and for their families.  Our goal is to help seniors maintain their dignity and some type of independence so they can feel good about themselves as they get more vulnerable.  Our goal is to provide people and services that are trusted, valued and serve the needs of seniors and their families.  In doing so, we hope to help bridge family communications in order to increase the quality of the  relationships.

What action is taken if you witness neglect or abuse?

Employees of Angel Advocates are required to report such situations to their supervisor, who will then determine action to be taken.

Do I have the option of setting a specific time and day schedule for your services?

Of course.  We will put together a schedule that meets the needs of families and their loved ones.

What if I need Angel Advocates to respond quickly in a “needed right now” situation?

We will go the extra mile to provide immediate services to existing clients faced with an unplanned situation. This includes helping with loved ones recuperating from surgery or other health issues.

What are “transition services”?

Often it is the grown children who recognize that mom or dad or grandma is no longer able to safely take care of themselves. They agonize over honoring their loved ones wishes to remain at home or to place them in a new home where they would receive assistance and not be alone.  Angel Advocates can help guide those conversations and offer resources to help guide the transition efforts and choices.

What is your confidentiality policy?

Every employee of Angel Advocates signs a Confidentiality Agreement that prohibits talking about or sharing of any information about a client or their family.  In addition, they must agree to not discuss any home or facility issues with anyone except Angel Advocates management.  Angel Advocates management does not share any information unless a client’s health and welfare is at risk.

What if my Grandma doesn’t like the Angel Advocate employee that you send?

No problem. We want Grandma to enjoy our visits, and we strive to match personalities so that the visits are mutually rewarding.
